“CREATION IS A PLACE WHERE EMOTIONS AND THOUGHTS MERGE INTO A DIALOGUE OF COLORS AND FORMS, REFLECTING THE INNER WORLD OF A HUMAN BEING.”

IRENA KALEDA

Art has been part of my life since 1998, when I entered the Painting Department at the Kaunas Academy of Arts. From the very beginning, painting was closest to my heart, though graphic design has always accompanied it.

For more than 27 years, I have lived alongside form, color, and image — it is not only my professional path but also my way of seeing the world. While graphic design is still part of my daily work, painting is where I feel the greatest freedom. Abstraction, to me, is a form of liberation. Within it, I am not bound to a specific object. Through color and texture, I can express emotion, experience, and inner movement. I often use thick layers of paint and fragments of leather, fabric, or other materials to bring the surface alive — giving it texture, depth, and energy. I am drawn to the behavior of paint itself: how it spreads, how textures form, and how one color influences another. I am fascinated by the unexpected moments that appear during creation, when the work begins to live according to its own rhythm.

What matters most to me is that each work invites the viewer to look, to feel, and perhaps even to enter into a quiet dialogue. I believe that every person sees differently — and that is where the essence of art truly lies. A painting should not dictate what to see; it should invite one to experience.

“dro-be” — a project that reflects the energy of creation and the meaning of giving, where the painting becomes a gift and the dedication a short, personal wish.

“dro-be” offers unique painted artworks for those who appreciate creativity and individuality. Each piece carries its own theme, character, and atmosphere. The artworks are created in oil or mixed media on canvas, 40×30×9 cm in size. They are carefully packaged in a wooden box with a personalized dedication and a description of the artwork.
